19 Dec Great ice, cool savings and reduced emissions – FortisBC blog post
December 19th, 2019 – For five years, we’ve been working with FortisBC to reduce their arena customers’ energy spend. That began with the successful large-scale pilot project that put REALice into 10 BC arenas – and marked the start of the adoption of REALice in Canada. That pilot showed that REALice reduced an arena’s natural gas spend by 79%, lowers greenhouse gas emissions – and makes great ice too.
With the Rink De-aerator rebate launched earlier this year, FortisBC is once again encouraging its arena customers to stop heating their resurfacing water and use REALice instead.
FortisBC is offering instant rebates of $20,000 for each system bought. In their latest blog post, they explain why they’re supporting this technology, with interviews from users about the system, their ice and their savings.
